Sunny needs a chance

When I first posted about Sunny after seeing her, I thought she was a very shy, awkward girl. She never smiled while we were there and always kept her head down. We just received these new photos of her. Look at her smiling and having a good time with her classmates!! To see her now, I have to wonder if she just wasn't completely uncomfortable with the Journey of Hope program and our being there. You can certainly see a lot of personality showing through in these new photos of her.

Sunny will be turning 14 this September. If she is not adopted before her birthday, she will no longer be eligible for adoption. For this reason, FTIA has appointed her as our A Child's Plea child, meaning we will waive our agency fees for her adoptive family. To learn more about Sunny, please visit our website. For those of you reading this on a yahoo group, you can see the photos by going to the blog at ftia-joh.blogspot.com.

Hope!

Hope is a beautiful 7 year old who has no problems being on stage! She likes to sing and express her imagination. She is friendly and likes to be the center of attention. She can take care of herself and is very independent. Hope has a history of seizures. The orphanage reports that for 2010, she only had 2 seizures that lasted about 5 minutes each and both came after she had been sick with a cold.

Jimmy!

Jimmy is 9 years old and has a mild developmental delay. He was brought to the orphanage at age 8 and now lives in foster care. He is in special education class but is close to other children his age. He can read simple Chinese characters. He likes riding bikes and any games that involve a ball. He is quiet, gets along well with others, and is introverted mostly when around strangers; otherwise he is a friendly and active young boy. He can take care of himself and will help the other children. You can see him performing in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbGPLfI3DG4&feature=channel) , along with Flower and Marc.
Jimmy's paperwork wasn't finished being processed at the time of our program, so he was just recently added to our list.
